Our guarantee
When you buy an offset from Carbon Passport, this money is used to buy credits called Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).
We guarantee that, measured over the year, a minimum of 80% (pre-VAT) of your money (excluding the purchase of promotional items such as fridge magnets or car stickers) will go towards the purchase cost of these credits. The remainder funds our costs which include website development, credit card fees, bank charges, office overheads, legal fees, accountancy fees, marketing costs and wages.
We will report an outturn figure at the end of our financial year and expect to comfortably exceed this percentage.
The guarantee will be reviewed at the start of the next financial year.
This guarantee is a minimum but is given on the assumption that the purchase cost of our credits does not fall below £10/tonne. In this event, we reserve the right to alter the guarantee.
We also reserve the right to alter the guarantee in the event of exceptional increases in our costs due to events outside of our control, such as the introduction of new charges affecting the carbon offsetting business or changes in tax treatment.
The guarantee only applies to offsets derived from CERs and does not apply to any other goods and services which Carbon Passport may supply from time to time.
